7 Newsletters To Help You Stay On Top of Social Media

ReadingI subscribe to well over 300 blogs using Google Reader. I don’t read them all obviously. That’d be a heck of a lot of reading; though I do like to read… Instead I prioritize my content. In other words, I have folders to categorize my blog feeds and there are certain ones that I visit daily. See:

15 Social Media Blogs That You Should Be Reading

In addition to blogs and books, one thing that serves as an excellent resource to me day in and day out, are the various newsletters I’m subscribed to from prominent names in social media. I’ve included a list of them here along with a description of who they are and with links to their subscription page. I hope that you find them as resourceful as I do!

7 Newsletters To Help You Stay On Top of Social Media:

Chris Brogan – “Chris Brogan is President of New Marketing Labs, a new media marketing agency, and home of theInbound Marketing Summitconferences and Inbound Marketing Bootcamp educational events. He works with large and mid-sized companies to improve online business communications like marketing and PR through the use of social software, community platforms, and other emerging web and mobile technologies.”

Jason Falls – “Social Media Explorer is the online home and blog of Social Media Explorer LLC, which is my consulting company. I’ve been called all sorts of things by folks around the social media, public relations, marketing and communications industries. I shy away from self-aggrandizement, but you’ll find some quotes about me from others below.”

Justin Levy – “Justin Levy is General Manager of New Marketing Labs, a new media marketing agency as well home to the Inbound Marketing Summit events, Inbound Marketing Bootcamps and a host of other educational events.  In this role Justin helps businesses navigate the unknown seas of new media marketing including how to use social media tools, blogs, community platforms, and listening tools to drive business value.”

Keith Ferrazzi (subscription on site side-bar) - “Keith Ferrazzi went on to found Ferrazzi Greenlight, an enterprise consulting, research and training firm. In 2009, he published his second book, Who’s Got Your Back, which quickly hit #1.”

Mike Michalowicz (Author of The Toilet Paper Entrepreneur) - “Mike Michalowicz (pronounced mi-CAL-o-witz) started his first business at the age of 24, moving his young family to the only safe place he could afford – a retirement village. With limited resources and no experience, he systematically bootstrapped a multi-million dollar technology business, sleeping in conference rooms to avoid hotel costs. After selling his first company, Mike launched a new business the very next day, and in less than three years, sold it to a Fortune 500. With his newest multi-million dollar venture, Obsidian Launch, he fosters startup businesses with his “get rich right” approach.”

Ittybiz – “IttyBiz is a place to get tips, advice, motivation, and support for your very small business. If you’re working from home or just thinking about it, come and hang out here for some great ideas and bad jokes.”

Scott Stratten (subscription on site side-bar) – “Scott Stratten is the President of Un-Marketing.com. He is an expert in Viral, Social, and Authentic Marketing which he calls Un-Marketing. It’s all about positioning yourself as a trusted expert in front of target market, so when they have the need, they choose you, That’s UN-Marketing.”

There you have it! Seven newsletters that I’m currently subscribed to and that I find very helpful. Head on over, subscribe and determine for yourself whether the content is as useful to you as it is to me. If you find that it’s not, you can always opt-out after all.

What About You?

Are there any other resources that you recommend that I didn’t mention? Do you read blogs/newsletters via email? Or do you prefer to log into your Google Reader and read content straight from the authors site?
